Glassblowing 101 (November)

November 18th - November 19th
Emily Doerflein |

Looking to get into glass? Come join our squad for a weekend of heat, fun and learning basic skills! We will start with a basic introduction to hot glass. We will spend the first day working on basic solid techniques, and everyone will have the opportunity to make a solid paperweight. The second day will be an introduction into blown glass. We will start the day with spheres and finish out with everyone making their very first cup!

What to Expect: Over the weekend class, students will learn how to gather and manipulate molten glass. There will be some demos but it will mainly be supported work time and room for students to become familiar with this material. The students can expect to leave with solid sculptures and blown vessels. The hot shop is a loud studio, and can get quite warm. Read more about how to prepare for class on our Registration Info page.

Eligibility: No previous experience required. Open to ages 14 and up.

Pick-up: The glass needs to cool down overnight, so the students will have to return to UrbanGlass once notified to pick up their work.

This is an in-person class taking place on-site at UrbanGlass. Health and safety guidelines will be emailed to you upon registration.
