This month’s featured artists: Ali Feeney, Shuhei Fuji & Malcolm Kriegel - Studio Techs

About Ali: Always playing with new materials, Ali Feeney is drawn to all things soft, shiny, and contrasting. Emerging artist, business owner, and educator, her research focuses on gender norms, craft histories, materials, and family dynamics. Feeney received her BFA from Alfred University in 2015 and her MFA from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2020. Feeney currently lives and makes art in Brooklyn, New York.

About Shuhei: Shuhei Fujii is a Japanese glassblower who works out of UrbanGlass. In a loud, bustling Brooklyn, Shuhei tries to imbue each glass vessel with the subtlety and simplicity, and the beauty and quietness, of Japanese craft-making.

About Malcolm: Brooklyn born artist Malcolm Kriegel began his career as a maker in high school. He learned wood, metal, and fiber skills at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. He was later introduced to glass at Tulane University’s Newcomb Art Department, earning his Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2018. Kriegel has since incorporated glass into his mixed media sculptures revolving around creating and navigating interpersonal relationships.
