The Vessel and the Void - An Introduction to Scrying

December 6th, 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

*This event will meet at 6:30 in the gallery to spend a short while among the exhibition before moving up to the studio classroom

There are few exercises that can get us into the oracular state as deeply as scrying - come learn a history and some techniques for practicing this ancient divination practice. Scrying comes from the Old English word descry meaning "to make out dimly" or "to reveal." Scrying is an auto-deepening trance practice traditionally achieved by staring into a smooth dark surface. During this session we’ll learn about some tools and practice techniques for finding guidance and illumination through the art of staring into the void. All materials will be provided.
