Intro to Glassblowing Weekend (January)

January 7th - January 8th
Malcolm Kriegel |

This weekend extravaganza will start with a basic introduction to hot glass. We will spend the first day working on basic techniques with solid glass, and everyone will have the opportunity to make a paperweight. The second day will be an introduction into blown glass. We will start the day with bell jars and finish out with everyone making their very own cup.

What to Expect: This is going to be a low stress - high instructor input introduction to the hot glass studio. Everyone will hopefully get to walk away with multiple functional items that they will feel they had a hand in creating AND be inspired to come back and learn more about glass.  Glass in its molten state is 2000 degrees. The hot shop is a loud studio, and can get quite warm. Read more about how to prepare for class on our Registration Info page.

Eligibility: No previous experience required. Open to ages 14 and up.

Pick-up: The glass needs to cool down overnight, so the students will have to return to UrbanGlass once notified to pick up their work.

This is an in-person class taking place on-site at UrbanGlass. Health and safety guidelines will be emailed to you upon registration.
