Intro to Fusing: Coasters

May 26th, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Courtney McCloskey |

In this introductory fusing lesson, students will learn all of the steps to transform flat sheet glass into a personal design as a set of 4 coasters, starting with the basics of glass cutting, grinding, and learning how many patterns can be created. Students will also be able to embellish work with glass called stringers and various types of frit. At the end of the lesson students will place their pieces in kilns and select specific temperatures to create the texture they desire. Open to all skill levels.

What to Expect: Students will create 4 glass coasters of their own simple design. Read more about how to prepare for class on our Registration Info page.

Eligibility: No previous experience required. Open to ages 14 and up.

Pick-up: The glass will need to be in a kiln at least overnight, so the students will have to return to UrbanGlass once notified to pick up their work.

This is an in-person class taking place on-site at UrbanGlass. Health and safety guidelines will be emailed to you upon registration.
