Join us for Give for Glass: Beadmaking at UrbanGlass! This fall, dive into the captivating world of glass art with our engaging workshops. Perfect for both experienced artists and enthusiastic beginners, learn to create beautiful glass pieces.

In these two-hour sessions, Melt colorful glass rods in the flame of a table torch to create your very own wearable beads. (ages 12+) Objects made during the lesson must cool slowly overnight, so please plan to return the following week for pickup, or contact us to arrange shipping.

Cost: $115 per session

What to Expect: Students will create up to 5 glass beads. Read more about how to prepare for class on our Registration Info page.

Eligibility: No previous experience required. Open to ages 12 and up.

Pick-up: The glass needs to cool down overnight, so the students will have to return to UrbanGlass once notified to pick up their work.

We recommend registering for classes early to reserve your spot! We base materials, and teacher needs off of student enrollment. Early registration not only guarantees your spot in class, but also helps to ensure the class will run. Classes with low enrollment may be cancelled within two weeks of the start date of class. Contact our Registrar of Education, Ari Eshoo, at arianna@urbanglass.org if you have questions about the class or would like to arrange a payment plan.

This is an in-person class taking place on-site at UrbanGlass.

Maria Aroche

Maria Aroche is an artist and educator at UrbanGlass, who has been dedicated to the art of flameworking since graduating from the Bead Project in 2007. Maria is passionate about the ancient art of glass, and its unique properties. She finds peace and beauty in the meditative process of melting colorful rods of glass over a flame, and transforming this molten material into glass beads to be worn and adorn.
