Maria Aroche

Maria Aroche is a 2007 graduate of the Bead Project at UrbanGlass Studio, Brooklyn NY.

The techniques I learned enabled me to explore what I am passionate about; experimenting with colors and glass to create one of a kind decorative glass art. The Bead Project has made an enormous change in my life, I have been invited to participate in several private and public events throughout New York City demonstrating the art of glass bead making. In addition to teaching at UrbanGlass, I am a recipient of the New York Hall of Science Maker Fair Red Ribbon Education award of 2013. I've had the opportunity in 2013-2014 to educate freshman students from Rudolf Steiner School, in Manhattan. In the summer of 2014, I interned at Corning Museum of Glass, Corning NY, assisting visitors in making their own glass beads and pendants. Currently, I continue the fascinating exploration of ancient glass bead making techniques.
