After a three-month closure to reinforce the floors to accommodate new shelving, the Juliette K. and Leonard S. Rakow Research Library of The Corning Museum of Glass has partially reopened. While researchers can once again access books and periodicals that make up one of the most complete collections on the art and history of glassmaking, some of the archives and rare books will not be available again until May 2010.

The library also has extensive online offerings, including an online search of its catalog as well as “virtual copies” of Corning’s landmark exhibitions surveying art and design in glass in 1959 and 1979.
