Waste Not, Want Not

January 15th - February 5th
Jane Bruce, Dorie Guthrie |

No matter how hard one tries, most artists working with kilnforming techniques end up with an ever-increasing collection of glass scraps that are left over from previous projects.  However, when looked at as a resource they are small pieces of clear and colored glass waiting to be given a second life.  During this class we will look at a variety of ways, including pot & mesh melts, pattern bars, and puddles, of using Bullseye scrap glass with and without the addition of a small selection of sheet glass, powder and/or frit.

This is an in-person class taking place on-site at UrbanGlass. Health and safety guidelines will be emailed to you upon registration. Proof of vaccination (full vaccination for ages 12+, one dose for ages 5-12) must be shown for in-person classes and studio access. Proof of vaccination* can be shown via:

  • CDC Paper Card
  • Digital Record or Copy of Vaccination Card
  • NYC COVID Safe App
  • Excelsior Pass

Please bring your vaccine record for a visual check on the first day of class. *Any WHO approved vaccines are accepted as part of the city’s order. upon arrival at the studio. More info on our Covid policies can be found here. Our top priority is keeping our community safe. Due to the spike in cases in NYC, we are asking that all students consider getting tested for COVID-19 before coming to class and if you test positive to remain home. We also ask that if you were recently directly exposed to COVID-19 and are awaiting test results that you do not come to class. In any case, we will work with you to find another class placement or refund you the class fee.
