UGH! Glassblowing, Hot Sculpting

November 11th, 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Esteban Salazar |

Join artist and instructor Esteban Salazar for a conversation about hot sculpting glass, and the possibilities of working exclusively solid! Without ever introducing a bubble, glass can be shaped, added on, and cut to create texture and form. Esteban will spend time answering submitted questions, address common issues and problem solving needs, and demonstrate techniques livestreamed in the studio as needed. This conversation is more applicable to students with previous hot glass experience, but all are welcome to join.

Note: The goal of these conversations is purely information sharing. Quotes, rates, jobs, etc. will not be provided as part of this evening.

If this price is prohibitive, please reach out to kelliek@urbanglass.org to talk through additional options.

More about the UGH! Series:

Got a glass problem you're not sure how to solve? UGH! Need some technical guidance on your project, but don’t know where to look? UGH!

The UrbanGlass Hotline (UGH!) gives students the opportunity to submit questions to our expert instructors about the glass processes they use to create dynamic works in glass. Each session, hosted on Zoom, begins with a short introduction to the teaching artist, followed by an interactive discussion about techniques, concepts, and problem solving. Students will have the opportunity to email questions up to a week in advance to guide the conversation, as well as participating in a live Q&A session.
