The Glass Postcard

August 18th - August 25th
Jane Bruce |

In this class, students will have the opportunity to look at what can happen when glass is used in a painterly manner. Inspired by their own individual image, photo or drawing, and working with a palette of clear and colored sheet glass together with glass powders, students will create imagery and depth in a 4” x 6” glass ‘postcard’. Basic cold working techniques will be introduced to enhance and finish the postcards. Students are asked to bring an image, photo or drawing to class that they wish to translate into glass. A short presentation on contemporary kilnformed glass will compliment hands-on work.

No experience required, however, this class is also suitable for those who have taken introductory kiln formed glass classes.
