Discover what can happen when glass is used in a painterly manner. Inspired by their own individual image, photo, or drawing, and working with a palette of clear and colored sheet glass together with glass powders, students will create imagery and depth in a 4” x 6” glass “postcard.” Basic coldworking techniques will be introduced to enhance and finish the postcards. Students are asked to bring an image, photo, or drawing to class that they wish to translate into glass. A short presentation on contemporary kilnformed glass will compliment hands-on work.
No experience required, however, this class is also suitable for those who have taken introductory kilnformed glass classes.
This class meets on Saturday September 25th, 11am-5pm. Then again on Tuesday September 28th, 7-9pm.
