Simple Goblets: Refining Form

October 13th - October 14th
Adam Holtzinger |

In this intermediate glassblowing class, we will attempt to explore the next steps in simple goblet assembly and form. Demonstrations introducing challenging bowl shapes, simple drop stems, and alternate shapes will lead to a new refinement in the vessel. We will also continue to practice foundation goblet techniques, including the avolio, morise, and blown foot, through drills and exercises. Fine glass frits will add subtle colors to your creations.

Each of these new elements will push your skill set, allowing you to create taller, more elegant forms for these simplistic vessels, while adding several new dialogues to your "repertoire" of skills! This class will refresh and refine your senses and knowledge, and put you on the lifelong journey to the ''HOLY GRAIL'' of fine Venetian cup making!
