Sculpting Techniques for Hollow Borosilicate

April 11th - May 2nd
Amy Lemaire |

This is a technical class that will help develop your vocabulary for sculpting hollow borosilicate. Learn to use custom tools, jigs and rollers to aid in the fabrication of larger and more complicated forms. Add more detail using “inside” sculpting tools, and learn how to mend cracks and holes in your work, troubleshoot, and properly calculate annealing time. Each class will start with a demo/ practice exercise lasting approx. 30 min, followed by individual work time. Some experience working hollow borosilicate and using a swivel/blowhose is helpful, but we will go over the basics in the first class.
