Pumpkin - palooza

October 4th, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
James Smith |

Come for a day of Fall fun in UrbanGlass' hotshop! We'll be keeping warm next to the furnace while making colorful glass pumpkins.

What to Expect: After covering the basics of hotshop safety and etiquette, students will be shown a brief demonstration on how to make a glass pumpkin. Afterwards, they will break into groups of two or three and work together (under the supervision of an instructor or TA) to make their very own! Students will be provided with a selection of colors with which they will be able to work.

The hot shop is a loud studio, and can get quite warm. Glassblowing takes repetition and practice - expect failures along with successes. Read more about how to prepare for class on our Registration Info page.

Eligibility: No experience necessary Open to ages 14 and up.

Pick-up: The glass needs to cool down overnight, so the students will have to return to UrbanGlass once notified to pick up their work.

This is an in-person class taking place on-site at UrbanGlass. Health and safety guidelines will be emailed to you upon registration.

We recommend registering for classes early to reserve your spot! We base materials, and teacher needs off of student enrollment. Early registration not only guarantees your spot in class, but also helps to ensure the class will run. Classes with low enrollment may be cancelled within two weeks of the start date of class. Contact our Registrar of Education, Ari Eshoo, at arianna@urbanglass.org if you have questions about the class or would like to arrange a payment plan.
