Proportion/Rhythm/Repetition: Introduction to Glassblowing

August 13th - August 17th
Courtney Dodd |

Building a solid skill-set is essential to controlling hot glass, a persistently difficult material. Through repetition and material observation students will gain an understanding of the medium that will translate both during and after this class. Reinforcing positive habits and building hand skills, we will discuss gathering, set-ups, proportion, and heat in order to create well-designed vessels. Building on basic knowledge of setting up shapes and glass proportions, students will learn a formula to make more complex designs as they progress. All levels welcome. Intended for beginners.
