Painting with Fire! All Ages Intro to Enamels

This workshop will introduce students to a variety of techniques used to enamel glass. Students of all skill levels will paint imagery onto both flat and three-dimensional glass forms, using traditional methods in combination with their own creativity. This will include powder painting, reverse painting, and layering imagery. During this workshop, students will also learn the process of cutting and grinding sheet glass, and will take home kiln schedules for future reference. Open to ages 7 and up.

Dorie Guthrie

Born in 1982 in Moline, Illinois, Dorie Guthrie was first exposed to the medium when she stumbled upon a small glass studio in her hometown. Since graduating from Illinois State University in 2008, Guthrie has continued her studies, being awarded scholarships, at Corning Museum of Glass, Penland School of Craft, and Pittsburgh Glass Center where she furthered her technique.
