Painting on Glass: A Beautiful Technique

June 17th - June 21st
Cappy Thompson |

In this five-day workshop Cappy Thompson will teach you the grisaille or grey-tonal method of painting vitreous enamels on glass. Using this technique, which involves multi-layered applications and firings, you can permanently affix images on glass. The workshop will give you an opportunity to design and paint a number of flat panels and a vessel form. Along the way you will receive an in-depth look at painted-glass project production. You will also be given handouts on materials, suppliers, and firing schedules.

This class has access to Student Hours for the semester, dedicated hours open to student use. Glass processes take practice, so utilize this free time in our studios to learn! For details email Kellie at
