Next Steps: Ridges and Twists

This intermediate class is designed to provide an overview of adding surface effects on glass by using metal blow molds. This class will cover the basic skills of using optic molds to put rigid patterns on the surface of your glass, unlock the mysteries of the twisty cup as well as the secrets behind fancier pattern work such as mezzo stampo and nypt-diamond-wies. Attempt to defy the odds and master the treacherous diamond facet mold. Previous glassblowing experience required. 

This class is offered as part of the Next Steps series, a group of weekend hot shop classes designed to focus and expand students’ skills. Take multiple Next Steps weekends to gain access to student hours. Contact for more information.
