Middle School Camp! Intro to Mosaics (FREE - STEM)
April 6th - April 10thFrom ancient murals to modern subway art, mosaics are all around us. This fun and timeless art form brightens up public spaces and lets us step into stories from both the past and present. Discover how to piece together simple patterns or complex imagery to tell your own colorful stories in glass! Taking inspiration from personal identity and interests, students will learn how to design, cut, glue, and grout their own mosaic masterpieces from start to finish. Immersed in the exciting world of a professional art studio, students will also learn about other ways of working with glass, discover creative careers in art, design, education and entrepreneurship, and see how art and science intersect through the fascinating material properties of glass.
