Malleable: Jewelry Design Experiments

June 1st - June 15th
Luisa Restrepo |

For the last year we have had to reinvent our routines and working processes, many times confined to the space of our homes. We have relied primarily on the internet as a window to the outside world, but when it comes to creativity our homes have much more information and raw materials to offer than we appreciate.

Classes will consist of a series of design thinking exercises that will help students, individually and as a group, to find and develop rounded concepts to work with. Improvising with what we have at will inspire unexpected ideas, many times very different from our usual work. The goal is to generate a collection of 3-dimensional sketches and models, a catalogue of ideas, and even finished pieces by the conclusion of the class.

Students will receive a list of materials, which you most likely already have at home. The list includes things like scissors, tape, glue, hot glue, thread, needle, etc. The full list of recommended materials will be emailed to you upon registration.

This is a virtual class taking place online via Zoom. A Zoom link will be emailed to you upon registration with further instructions for accessing the class.
