Making Mosaic Magic

November 5th - December 10th
John Drury |

This course is the perfect offering for those artists comfortable with two-dimensions, interested in turning drawings and paintings into three-dimensional works of glass art, expanding their creative vocabulary. Complete a full piece in this 6 week course, through direct mosic production. Through a brief presentation of the techniques used, both historical and contemporary, you will be introduced to varied examples of material use. Students will look outside of the classroom to personal experience and to their own physical environments for strong conceptual basis to their personal work and a unique experience reflective of this age-old technique. Skills learned will include proper installation procedures, including use of adhesives, grouts and resources for other materials with an eye to recycling, and their proper use for installation inside and out.

No experience with glass is necessary.

This class is being offered as part of our 40 for 40 series, a celebration of the 40th anniversary of UrbanGlass.
