Introduction to Glassblowing: Heat, Gravity, & Teamwork

February 2nd - March 9th
Alex Krueger |

Looking to try something new? In this six week course we will cover how to manipulate glass in its molten state. We will learn the basics of safely working in the glassblowing studio, including the ins and outs of teamwork and shop etiquette. Students can expect to leave with a basic understanding of glassblowing along with a few of your very own handmade pieces. We will start with observation and demonstrations, then move to hands-on experience creating your own glass art. This class is project-based- students can expect to complete custom cups, bowls and other various blown shapes. Expect to be immersed with new information and a brand new skill set and appreciation for glass. This is a beginner friendly class - bring a sketchbook, a positive attitude, and a desire to learn and work as a team. Sign up today and come meet us in the hot shop!
