Intro to Beads: Beadables
March 19th, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pmStarr Eaddy |
In this 3-hour workshop, you'll learn the essential skills needed to create and shape beads that fit perfectly on beadable items. You'll gain hands-on experience in glass manipulation, using heat and tools to shape and size your beads for a precise fit on a variety of items, from housewares to personal accessories. Additionally, you'll explore simple decorating techniques, bead shapers, and texturizers to create a diverse range of decorative styles.
What to Expect: The class begins with a brief, 30-minute demonstration to introduce the basics, followed by ample time for you to create your own beads using the techniques covered. Beadmaking requires some practice, particularly in mastering heat control with the torch. By the end of the session, you can expect to have made several beads that fit beautifully on a beadable item, such as a key finder. Read more about how to prepare for class on our Registration Info page.

Eligibility: No previous experience required. Open to ages 12 and up.
Pick-up: The glass needs to cool down overnight then be carefully removed from the mandrels, so the students will have to return to UrbanGlass once notified to pick up their work.
