Intermediate Neon: Block Lettering

October 18th - November 29th
Stephanie Sara Lifshutz |

In this six-week neon lettering class, learn the advanced skills required to bend block letters (for example, think classic OPEN signs) and work from a pattern. We will focus on mastering the basics of tube bending techniques as well as layout preparation in order to create, wire, and display your own neon signs. By the end of the class, students will have the skills and confidence to work independently on advanced projects in our studio.

This class will not meet on November 22

What to Expect: Bombarding and electrode attachment for 5 units of neon are included in this class, as well as a transformer (power) and wiring kit. Past 5 units, students will be charged for electrode attachment and pumping at these rates. Read more about how to prepare for class on our Registration Info page.

Eligibility: Previous experience bending neon is required. Not there yet? Check out our introductory or 101 neon classes. Open to ages 14 and up.

Pick-up: Neon tubes will be bombarded during the weeks of class, so students should leave with finished units of neon. Should processing take additional time, students will have to return to UrbanGlass once notified to pick up their work.

This is an in-person class taking place on-site at UrbanGlass. Health and safety guidelines will be emailed to you upon registration.
