Hue Again

July 26th, 11:00 am – 5:00 pm
Kate Hush |

What do most neon studios have in common? Odds and ends of glass tubes as far as the eye can see! In this one day neon workshop where sustainability meets style we’ll take advantage of the scrap pile and no hue will be left behind. From Ruby Red to Flamingo Pink we’ll utilize every color of the rainbow that’s peeking and poking out from the studio’s grounds. Whether they perfectly pair or creatively clash, you’ll learn the basic bends of neon so you can create your own multihued piece that is bold, bright, and gives our scrap glass a second life.

What to expect: Participants can expect to leave with 6 units. Read more about how to prepare for class on our Registration Info page. Clean-up time is included in the duration of class, and usually the last 20 minutes of class are dedicated to cleaning your workstation.

With neon work, participants primarily engage in standing activities such as bending and assembling neon tubes over a torch flame. Working with glass materials requires a certain level of dexterity. Learn more about accessibility on our website.

Eligibility: No previous experience required. Open to ages 14 and up.

Pick-up: Neon tubes may be bombarded during class, however should processing take additional time, students will have to return to UrbanGlass once notified to pick up their work.

This is an in-person class taking place on-site at UrbanGlass. Health and safety guidelines will be emailed to you upon registration.
