High School Camp! Bright Matter: Intro to Neon Bending (FREE - STEM)

July 10th - July 21st

Did you know all neon signs are handmade from glass tubing? Illuminate the summer with a neon masterpiece of your own design! Beginning with an exploration of how noble gases interact with electrical currents to produce light, students will investigate the technical and aesthetic aspects of this unique art form. Working with various torches to weld and bend glass tubes, each student will spend time planning, creating, and lighting their very own glowing sign.

This is a FREE camp offered in collaboration with STEM Matters NYC, a Dept. of Education program that partners with cultural institutions to provide enrichment programs during spring and summer break for NYC students in grades K-12. Students are selected through an application process, with priority given to students who attend Title I schools.

Deadline: Wednesday, April 26
