Glass Lamination for Multidimensional Panels

July 9th - July 13th
Sasha Zhitneva |

In this class, students will construct panels that are multidimensional both in terms of the glass techniques used and in breaking away from a flat plane. Through exploration of fusing, slumping, painting, and simple abrasion methods we'll create a variety of elements to be used in your laminated collages. Using lamination will allow us to overcome limitations set by techniques when they're used on their own. To name a few, we'll be able to layer incompatible glass, to combine flat and 3D parts, and to add painting to glass that could not be fired. Demonstrations, examinations of daily projects, exchange of ideas and observation of each other discoveries will help participants to expand their repertoire of glass working methods, technical solutions, and design possibilities.
