Glass & Image Fusing Frenzy

This intensive workshop is based on a combination of fusing and imagery techniques. It will give students of all skill levels a taste of the varying ways to fabricate graphics onto flat glass and three-dimensional forms, with an emphasis in sandblasting and enamel painting. The methods to be covered will include decals, photo resist, reverse painting, under painting and layering imagery. During this workshop, students will also learn the process of cutting/grinding sheet glass and gain knowledge of multiple fusing styles, along with writing proper kiln schedules.

Dorie Guthrie

Born in 1982 in Moline, Illinois, Dorie Guthrie was first exposed to the medium when she stumbled upon a small glass studio in her hometown. Since graduating from Illinois State University in 2008, Guthrie has continued her studies, being awarded scholarships, at Corning Museum of Glass, Penland School of Craft, and Pittsburgh Glass Center where she furthered her technique.
