Middle School Camp! Intro to Beadmaking (FREE - STEM)

April 6th - April 10th

Jewelry and accessories are a decorative language used to communicate across cultures throughout history. Dive into the ancient art of flameworking and create your own wearable glass beads and 3D sculptures! Using heat, gravity, and a few simple hand tools, students will learn how to safely operate a table torch to melt and shape glass rods in a flame. Get ready to work closely with molten glass as you pinch, poke, stretch, and weld it into bold, colorful pieces that showcase your unique style. Immersed in the exciting world of a professional art studio, students will also learn about other ways of working with glass, discover creative careers in art, design, education and entrepreneurship, and see how art and science intersect through the fascinating material properties of glass.
