Glass & Gas: Intro to Neon

October 9th - December 11th
Emily Craddock |

In this 8-week, introductory workshop, students will learn to manipulate glass tubes to create their own, unique neon signs. Demonstrations on equipment safety, basic bends, and good technique will lead to more complex explorations dependent on student designs. Using the week in between each class to process what they’ve learned, students will learn to pattern for neon, plan out their signs, experiment, and add neon art to their tool kit as artists. Come explore the lighting and sculptural possibilities of this unique art form.
