Fruition: From Concept to Exhibition

September 16th - September 20th
Einar and Jamex de la Torre |

This course will focus on sculpting hot glass and the use of bitwork in the hotshop. With daily demonstrations focusing on these sculptural techniques, knowledge will also be given about assemblage techniques with finished pieces. Instructors will assist students in making complex bit-worked sculptures using teams to help with this process. Some of the finished work made during demonstrations will be a part of the instructors’ exhibition in the Agnes Varis Art Center. During this workshop, students will have an opportunity to see what it takes to put together an exhibition from beginning to end, using a mixed media approach.

Students are invited to take part in the installation of these works the following days in the Art Center.

Students enrolled in this course have access to Student Hours- scheduled time outside of class to practice and work on projects throughout the semester. For any questions regarding this access please contact Kellie at kelliek@urbanglass.org.
