Flesh of my Flesh: In Conversation

June 27th, 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm

We are excited to present a digital performance and panel discussion to accompany the thought-provoking exhibition, Flesh of my Flesh, curated by Baseera Khan. Flesh of my Flesh is a five person, juried group show whose title is borrowed from a decade-long project and book of essays by Kaja Silverman. The themes of each essay in Silverman’s writing range from the space between two people, the psychology behind love and desire, and relational constructs that give one their sense of self. Exhibiting artists Anna Lehner, Efrat Lipkin, Jessi Li, Kayla Cantu and Madeline Rile Smith are unified in their practices by revealing how the femme-identifying body takes on these analogies through the materialities of glass, and creating objects that visualize the gaps between exile and kinship. Join us for this look into the spectacular work presented, featuring  a special digital performance, and insights from the curator!
