Cups and Bits

October 23rd - December 4th
Mia Sartori, Shuhei Fujii |

This class will focus on making & embellishing cups. Cups are a basic form, and practicing a cylinder will help refine students’ understanding of the glass making process as well as their hand skills. With a firm foundation to work from, we’ll introduce working with “bits” to add decoration and make our cups more unique. Glass “bit work” refers to working with glass in an additive fashion; building a piece by adding several globs of glass together.

This class is designed for students who already have some experience in the hot shop and would like to better refine their process, and bring their personality out in their glass!

This class will not meet on Saturday, November 27.

As of September 7, proof of at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine must be shown for in-person classes and studio access. Proof of vaccination* can be shown via:

  • CDC Paper Card
  • Digital Record or Copy of Vaccination Card
  • NYC COVID Safe App
  • Excelsior Pass

Please bring your vaccine record for a visual check on the first day of class.

*Any WHO approved vaccines are accepted as part of the city’s order.
