Constructed Images: Layered Glass Paintings

In his kilnformed glass paintings, Michael Endo utilizes a wide variety of image making techniques. By combining centuries-old glass painting, glass powder and frit painting, and drawing processes adapted for kiln-glass, he constructs multi-layered atmospheric spaces and narratives. This workshop will focus on the techniques Endo uses in his practice and will encompass painting with glass powders, enamel painting adapted for high temperatures, layered kilnforming, and will touch on printing and drawing techniques for kiln glass.

Michael Endo

Michael Endo was born in Portland, Oregon in 1979. He received an M.F.A. in painting from Cranbrook Academy of Art, Michigan, in 2009 and a B.A. from Portland State University, Oregon in 2005.
