With a focus on exploring the optical properties of glass, this introductory to intermediate course will introduce students to different methods of cold, mechanical manipulation to create surfaces that reflect, diffract, or distort. From grinding and polishing to faceting and etching, this course will cover how to use all the machines in the cold shop to create a plethora of visual effects used for decorative and scientific ends.

Please note this class does not meet on Thanksgiving, November 23rd.

This class is being offered as part of our 40 for 40 series, a celebration of the 40th anniversary of UrbanGlass.
