Jewelry Demonstrations in the UrbanGlass Studios

Join artists Amy Lemaire and Bianca Abreu for demonstrations of how they create their unique jewelry using the tools of the glass studio in UrbanGlass' 17,000 square foot facility. Amy Lemaire will speak about her work and demonstrate how she uses the heat of a torch to create detailed wearable sculptures in UrbanGlass' flameshop. Bianca Abreu will speak about her work and showcase the techniques she employs in UrbanGlass' coldshop - where work is cut, polished, and shaped - to create glowing cabochons and components for her jewelry.

This event is running as part of New York City Jewelry Week 2018.

Amy Lemaire

Amy Lemaire is a multi-disciplinary artist and educator based in Brooklyn, NY. An explorer at heart, her work reveals an interest in currency systems, material language poetics, and the production of histories.

Bianca Abreu

Bianca Abreu received her BFA in Sculpture from Pratt Institute with a concentration in Installation. In her final semester, she discovered her love for glass and an exploration of metals with the material came shortly after.
