Seed Beads

August 4th - August 6th
Lenise Omeasoo |

Join Lenny, creator of Antelope Women Designs, for this weekend workshop that will get you started on your own beaded journey. Learn to create beaded appliqué, and leave with a small beaded work of art! Lenny is excited to share five different beginner techniques and how to assemble your finished beadwork into a wearable item. Class discussion will also touch on cultural appropriation and appreciation within the vast, international history of beadwork.

What to Expect: Over the evening and two days, you will be creating a small beaded accessory- think hair clip, brooch, or small sculpture. Students will be working with pre-made beads, in a process that is similar to beaded embroidery. Through the workshop, you will develop a variety of skills, styles, and tools to use in continued projects beyond this workshop. Class will take place in the UrbanGlass classroom. Read more about how to prepare for class on our Registration Info page.

This class meets:

Friday 6-9pm
Saturday & Sunday 10am-6pm both days

Eligibility: No previous experience required. Open to ages 14 and up.

Pick-up: Students will create their own small wearable beaded accessory or sculpture that they will be able to take home the day of the class.

This is an in-person class taking place on-site at UrbanGlass. Health and safety guidelines will be emailed to you upon registration.
