Open Studios: Science Rules!

December 1st, 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
UrbanGlass Staff |

Enjoy an afternoon behind-the-scenes in our spectacular 17,000 square foot facilities to learn how artists use science to sculpt glass into amazing things!

Contemporary glassmaking is highly scientific - from understanding temperature  to determining color. Join us for hands-on activities for all ages and tour our incredible space to learn how artists rely on science in glassblowing, bending glass tubes for neon, and small-scale glass sculpture, known as flameworking. Artists will be at work throughout the afternoon demonstrating a variety of techniques.

Or sign up today to work one-on-one with an artist to make your own blown-glass ornament, try your hand at fusing or check out our silkscreening and bead-stringing activities!
