This course will describe and demonstrate various techniques to display and mount neon signage and artwork. Students will learn how to evaluate a neon structure (neon tube) in terms of how it may inform the display or mounting method. Different materials utilized for supporting neon will be discussed, along with demonstrations of the tools involved. Owing to the somewhat fragile nature of the glass tube, information will be provided as to how to best handle neon tubes during transportation and mounting for display. Participants are encouraged to bring their own neon creations from previous UrbanGlass classes.
Please note - we will not be creating neon signs during this class. This is exclusively for students who already have signs they would like to learn how to mount.
