In this 3-hour workshop, you'll master the essential techniques for creating glass chains by connecting links and loops. You'll get hands-on experience with using heat and tools to close and connect links. You'll also have the opportunity to explore decorating techniques, bead shapers, and texturizers to add a unique flair to your creations.

What to Expect: The class begins with a focused mini-lesson on how to properly close and connect links, followed by dedicated time for you to craft your own glass chain. Flameworking, especially when it comes to controlling heat with the torch, requires practice. By the end of the session, you'll have created a chain with several links, showcasing your newly acquired skills.

Read more about how to prepare for class on our Registration Info page.

Flameworking can involve a mix of seated and standing activities, including working with glass rods and torches. The environment can be bright and loud at times. Handling glass and tools may require a certain level of dexterity.  To learn more about accessibility the Accessibility page on our website.

Eligibility: No previous experience required. Open to ages 12 and up.

Pick-up: The glass needs to cool down overnight then be carefully removed from the mandrels, so the students will have to return to UrbanGlass once notified to pick up their work.
