(●'◡'●) ✿ Grow a Garden ✿ (❁´◡`❁) - Community Mosaic Workshop

August 12th, 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Learn the basics of making mosaics in a fun, garden themed community workshop led by our high school interns from the Bloomberg Arts Internship: Amy & Janice! Demonstrations will cover how to use the provided glass cutting tools, along with the fundamental do’s and don’ts of mosaic design that you can apply to future projects. Although donations are appreciated, this workshop is completely free and open to everybody, no matter your familiarity in glass!

This is a collaborative project! Participants will not be making individual artworks to take home.

If you’d like to support free programs at UrbanGlass, please consider purchasing a $10 ticket. Proceeds from ticket sales help us cover the cost of this event and other accessible programming at UrbanGlass.

What to expect: Participants are given individual 5x5” wooden tiles to design their very own section of the garden. Templates and drawing guides will be provided, but they are simply suggestions/support. Participants are encouraged to be creative! The final result will be installed in an interactive mural at UrbanGlass. You'll come away with knowledge of the basics of mosaic making, including how to cut and adhere glass to a substrate, but you will not be able to take your tile home.

Eligibility: This event is open to all levels and ages. No previous experience required. Ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult chaperone.
