G.L.O.W. - Neon without the wrestling

July 16th - July 20th
Emily Craddock |

In this explorative neon intensive, students will be encouraged to push the boundaries of signage and novelty to create contemporary forms and/or light sources. Mixed media and outside materials are welcome, so long as electrical practices remain safe. Presentations on history, science, and contemporary artists will be provided to spark inspirations. Students will be given a series of tutorials on how to execute strong structural bends and welds, follow a pattern or a three-dimensional structure, and mount and wire gas-filled units. This class is structured for the beginner; however, modifications will be made for those who are revisiting techniques.
