The history of glass is a long and rich one of over 3,600 years. Knowledge of the field helps to locate work in an historical context as well as assisting in the understanding of contemporary glass. Through a series of presentations this class will explore different areas of this fascinating history. Each class will be comprised of a presentation on a particular time period and how it may, or may not, have influenced contemporary glass. Each class will be complemented by livestreamed demonstrations from different areas of the studio corresponding to the lecture topic, with ample time for questions.
