Tara Traister is an artist and military veteran who served in the Navy and Army National Guard from 1992-1998. She began making art as a way to heal from military trauma in art therapy workshops at the Brooklyn Veteran’s Medical Center. After experimenting with kilnformed glass at the VA, Tara went on to learn a variety of other glass techniques at UrbanGlass. Her work has been shown in numerous veteran art exhibitions in NYC, notably at Snug Harbor, the Brooklyn Campus VA, and the Salmagundi Club, which is one of the oldest fine art clubs in the city.
