HELP WANTED: UrbanGlass has two opportunities at the director level

UrbanGlass, the Brooklyn, New York, nonprofit art center founded in 1977, is seeking a creative and collaborative Education Director to champion its educational initiatives and community-outreach programs. In addition, this innovative cultural organization at the forefront of artistic expression with glass is also seeking an experienced professional to assume the integral position of Director of Development. The Education Director will plan and implement a dynamic, inclusive education program leading a talented team of professionals including staff, teachers, artists, and assistants. In addition to creating learning opportunities at the state-of-the-art glass studios of UrbanGlass, this position is focused on building relationships and encouraging community engagement as part of the senior leadership team.

Expertise in glass as a creative medium will be a significant asset in this role, as will extensive experience working in education programming, whether as a teacher or administrator. The position requires a highly organized and a compassionate communicator who can effectively navigate the challenges and opportunities within the cultural landscape of New York City.

The Director of Development position would be best filled by a dynamic fundraising leader who possesses a commitment to cultivating relationships with stakeholders who passionately support the organization's mission. The next Director of Development will assume a key role in the UrbanGlass leadership team, and will work closely with the Executive Director to conceptualize and execute a comprehensive fundraising plan, which will be developed in close communication with the Board of Directors. 

The successful candidate will bring the potential to implement and oversee a wide array of annual fundraising initiatives, connecting with diverse funding sources including individuals, corporations, private foundations, and government agencies, among others. Creative use of the UrbanGlass 17,000-sq.-ft. studio space as a venue for unique events and soirees to engage with donors and new prospects is encouraged. Additionally, the Director of Development will need to be an effective steward of our institutional funders, ensuring that their generous contributions are acknowledged and utilized effectively.
