Nationally televised PBS craft program to feature Paul, Marina, and Dante Marioni

This Monday evening, October 17th, at 10 PM in many television markets, Craft in America, an ongoing PBS series that unabashedly celebrates work being done in craft media, will debut a new episode titled simply “Family.” Looking at the connections across generations, the episode will feature Paul Marioni, his son Dante, and his daughter Marina. In addition to the Seattle-based Marioni family, the episode will also visit the Georgia-based woodturning family of the Moulthrops, and the ceramic husband and jeweler wife Cliff and Holly Lee duo from Pennsylvania.

The “Craft in America” series is the longtime project of executive producer Carol Sauvion, who has also produced a book and museum exhibition of the same name. The mission of the project is “to document and advance original handcrafted work through programs in all media, accessible to all.” Sauvion has said the time is right for a reexamination of craft as a new generation of DIY makers embraces the handmade.
