The art department at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, about 30 miles from Minneapolis, is seeking a full-time assistant professor with a deadline to apply of February 21st, 2011. Billed as tenure-track, this position starts in Fall of this year and comes with a teaching load of three studio classes per semester and a salary that will be negotiated based on qualifications, including education and experience. Responsibilities include teaching introductory glass classes, as well as courses on Studio Glass. Classes in drawing, design foundation, and art appreciation will also be the responsibility of the successful applicant, as will running the hot and cold shops and serving on department and university committees.
The requirements for the position include an MFA in glass, a minimum of three years of teaching at the university or college level, experience operating a glass facility, and a strong exhibition record. Applications are being accepted online only.
