HELP WANTED: Corning Studio seeks Programs Manager

The Studio at The Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, New York is seeking a new programs manager for the recently renovated and expanded art-making space. The former programs director, Megan Mathie Jack, is leaving to pursue another opportunity after 7 years in the position, according to the Studio’s director Amy Schwartz.

Less high-profile than The Corning Museum of Glass's current international search for a new president and executive director, the job opening at the Corning Studio opening is nonetheless surprisingly expansive in its range of responsibilities, encompassing everything from the management of the four-season schedule of classes to maintaining the Studio's social media presence.

The full-time, in-person position is focused on making the expanded Studio's facility run at optimal efficiency. The job description presents the primary duty to “plan and deliver a world-class menu of classes that cater to key stakeholders, fill to capacity, and strategically make use of all Studio spaces.”

Outreach is another necessary skill set. The position calls for a creative individual capable of conceptualizing, directing, and delivering content as both the head of the Studio editing team and the main voice of the Studio's social media identity. In assuming these roles, the potential Programs Manager commits to writing, editing and publishing the class catalogue, and managing all social media content in addition to coordinating and writing all web content, including emailed newsletters and announcements.

In keeping with CMoG's DEI initiatives, the Programs Manager is also responsible for ensuring the diversity of these programs to reflect the museum's membership.

Those interested, with a bachelor’s degree in glass and/or communications-related and minimum 3 years experience, can review the full application here and submit a statement of interest with their resume and cover letter to: employment@cmog.org
