Transmission

Closing reception: November 8th from 1:30-3:30pm.

In Transmission, Helena Parriott will present a series of performances featuring her signature ambidextrous drawing process. Using a motor-driven easel, Parriott merges influences of calligraphy, dance, and meditation in a sustained 30 minute line drawing. Parriott improvises deceivingly symmetrical forms in her process, exploring the human, the machine, and the center.

Marking development in the process,Transmission will be presented as a site-specific installation in the Agnes Varis Art Center at UrbanGlass. A series of 10 performance artifacts will be produced over the course of the 3 month exhibition.

Schedule of performances: Saturday, September 19th at 1pm, and every Sunday, September 20 - November 8, at 2pm.
