In Conversation: Kris Rumman, David King and Kyle Sword

Current and upcoming exhibiting artists, Kris Rumman and David King, will present their respective artistic practices and talk about various ways they engage with the medium of float glass and its technologies. Rumman’s exhibition Till Human Voices Wake Us, And We Drown is currently on view at the Agnes Varis Art Center, and King’s upcoming exhibition Sanguine will open at Window Gallery on March 9th. The discussion will also be joined by Kyle Sword from Pilkington North America, who will present the Momentum | Intersection glass program, the initiative of The Arts Commission, Toledo, Ohio, connecting artists, designers, and industry professionals at NSG Pilkington North America for collaboration and development of new artworks in glass.
About David King-
King earned an MFA from Tyler School of Art and Architecture in 2011. He has twice been a fellow at WheatonArts, as well as an emerging artist in residence at the Pilchuck Glass School. His work has been shown internationally and was recently part of the Corning Museum of Glass exhibition, New Glass Now. King has previously taught at the Ohio State University, University of the Arts, Tyler School of Art and Architecture, Salem Community College, Pilchuck Glass School, UrbanGlass, and North Lands Creative Glass. King is currently an assistant professor of studio art at Centre College in Danville, KY.
About Kyle Sword-
Kyle Sword is the Business Development Manager for Pilkington North America and heads the company’s interests in business development, marketing, and historic restoration. Has worked for NSG Pilkington for 20+ years, mostly in glass manufacturing. He holds the Ceramic Engineering degree from The Ohio State University and an MBA from California State University, Sacramento. Kyle is involved with a variety of different technological developments in the glass industry including VIG, BIPV, and transparent conductive materials. Main business function is to spread glass education and look for new opportunities to provide value for customers creating products with coated and flat glass products.
